Opening Weekend: Kick Off the 2024/25 Season in Style
It’s time to dust off your gear and sharpen those edges—Opening Day at Sugar Bowl is almost here! Mark your calendar for Friday, November 22, conditions permitting, and kick off the 2024/25 season in style. This year, we’re pulling out all the stops to celebrate, with special $39 lift tickets* honoring Sugar Bowl’s founding in 1939, live music all weekend, and a festive First Chair Celebration. Here’s everything you need to know to make this an unforgettable start to the season.
Early Season Conditions & Terrain Openings
Our snowmaking team has been working around the clock as conditions allow, supplementing recent snowfall with man-made snow to build a solid base for great skiing and riding from day one. We’re planning to open Jerome Hill Express for top-to-bottom skiing & riding, as well as White Pine and the Flume Moving Carpet for beginners. A small beginner park on Caboose with 5-6 features will also be available.
We plan to expand terrain offerings as conditions allow, but please remember early-season conditions exist, so ski and ride with care.

Sugar Rush Tubing
Sweet news! Sugar Rush Tubing opens early this season on Friday, November 22. Thanks to cold temps and early snowfall, we’re excited to offer 5 tubing lanes (conditions permitting) and endless family-friendly frosty fun. Space is limited, so book your 2-hour session online now.
Coming Soon: Royal Gorge & Uphill Travel
Royal Gorge Cross Country still needs more snow on the trails before we can officially open, but the forecast looks promising! We’re gearing up for opening on Thanksgiving Day (weather permitting). With all the fresh snowfall expected this week, we’ll be out packing the trails to get everything ready for your perfect holiday adventure. Stay tuned for updates as we monitor conditions and get closer to welcoming you back to North America’s largest cross-country resort.
For those interested in uphill ski touring and splitboarding, please note that uphill travel remains closed due to limited terrain and early-season conditions. Your safety is our top priority as we work to prepare the mountain for everyone’s enjoyment. As more terrain opens, we’ll look to begin offering uphill access—keep an eye out for announcements.
This is just the beginning—don’t miss the magic of Sugar Bowl’s opening weekend!
